The 765 Power Line is Proceeding. Make your voice heard.
The 765 Power Line project is proceeding. This line, which seeks to build an Ultra High Voltage Power Line through the south of the state, is already approved by the state utilities commission and is moving forward. This power line will impact our lives directly here in Houston County. The power lines will drill deep into the limestone, impacting our underground water supply and pollute our environment.
So what can we do to stop this plan now?
The only available way to make sure your voice is heard by the State of Minnesota is to submit an online comment on the PUC docket. They will not accept phone calls, letters, or direct emails. The state is looking for feedback, and the PUC is the only way to submit it.
How to Submit a PUC Docket Comment
To submit a comment, first you must visit the PUC website.
You will need to enter the eDocket number. The eDocket number is 25-121 (Rochester to Wisconsin) or 25-117 (South Dakota to Rochester).
Once you are in, fill out the comment form with the topic of your concern (IE: the 765 Power Line) and provide a detailed comment as to your concerns about the power line, whether it be with its environmental impact or any other element of it that you dislike. You will need to provide your name to comment.
With enough comments on the docket, we will be able to make our voices heard on this issue at the state level. Tell your friends, your neighbors, and anyone in your family to fill out a comment. With enough comments against this motion, we will be able to make the change we need for our communities. We have already come so far in getting the word out, and this is our best chance at making an impact.
